In director Hong Sang-Soo's first feature, a pig drowns in a well. Observers gather, then turn away and return to their daily routine. The well in which the pig drowns is a metaphor for the city of Seoul in the mid-90s; the film is a portrait of four characters on the day a pig fell into the well.
